And the “Ayes” Have It – Huh?

7 Sep

I don’t know why, but the most lasting impression I have of the Democratic National Convention centers around the vote on the God-in/God-out Amendment.

First, of course, is what it says about the party that they removed the God/Jerusalem language in the first place.  One MUST believe that was purposeful, and reflected the leadership’s desire to downplay both God and Israel/Jerusalem.

Then — What purpose could there possibly have been to try to put the language back in other than fear of the political fallout from having removed it?  Not dedication to the principles themselves (as though an accidental oversight had occurred), but simple fear of repercussions.

Then — What arrogance does it take to flatly assume that the delegates will approve the amendment on the floor – so overwhelmingly that it will be easy to hear the two-thirds majority?  So let’s just put the “winning” message onto the teleprompter in advance, shall we?

This is the Democratic Party, right?  So let’s have the delegates vote to approve the amendment.  But where are our democratic principles when the floor votes down the amendment, and you simply lie about the vote and say the floor approves by a two-thirds majority?  Everyone there knew that was not true.

Shouldn’t the facilitator of the vote simply have said that the amendment fails to pass?  But no, because he knows he would be “dead meat” – because the Democratic Party leadership is all about having things their way and ramming their desires down the throats of their adoring supporters.  A GREAT demonstration of this.

There is no way I could support a party that, even in front of national TV audiences, displays this level of arrogance and dominance toward its members.

 How about you?

You, too, Huh? My thought at the time was all they needed was ‘San Fran Nan’s’ gavel to make it official, that it didn’t matter what the people felt. Hard to believe how open they are about it.

The Democrat party is run from the “back room”. This is just conclusive evidence of that fact.

I don’t know if the same is true of the Republican party or not. But we do not have conclusive nationally televised evidence of it.

But I am sick and tired of parties.

And “amazing” is almost an understatement. You got it, my friend.
