The Black Conservative — Myth or Reality?

20 May

I couldn’t pass this up — please tell me what you think.

This quote from Thomas Sowell (happens to be one of my favorite op-ed writers):

“Liberals seem to believe that blacks should be represented proportionally everywhere — except in conservative organizations. ”

Doctor Sowell is a conservative black economist, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institute at Stanford University.   He and a few other outspoken black conservatives (Alan West, Star Parker, Walter Williams, maybe more) continually come under fire from the “black mainstream” — the likes of Sharpton, Jackson, and others (including other black congressmen) for speaking out against liberal policies that tend to hold back black and Latino minorities from enjoying the pursuit of happiness.

Another great Sowell quote:

“As a black man, I am offended when white people take the likes of Al Sharpton seriously — or pretend to.”
